Pebble Beach no Hatou New: Tournament Edition (ペブルビーチの波濤New~トーナメントエディション~ , lit. "Tao - Waves Pebble Beach Tournament Edition New ~")[2] is a Super Famicom video game that was released in 1996 to an exclusively Japanese market.
The game allows players to compete at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Links golf course; competing in either stroke play, match play or tournament play. Realistic physics are used while players must use their golf clubs to hit the ball in order to gain distance while taking the prevailing wind speed. Players can give their players up to eight-character names (numbers, letters, and some characters can be used). Imperial measurements like yards and miles per hour are used instead of metric units; highly unlikely for a Japan-exclusive video game.
